(train whistling) - We are filming about two hours north of Bucharest to get a nice high bridge, which speaks of imminent danger.
Fogg is the one leading the charge to get our train over the bridge.
- Ready Mr.
Fogg.
(train whistling) - Phileas Fogg is an extraordinary character, I think.
He starts off as a repressed Englishman of a certain class, a timid man really.
- What Ashley did with Phileas Fogg, was he brought what was inside this character out, which I didn't think you really got from the novel.
- Getting David Tennant to play Fogg was just such a joyful moment because we wanted somebody who could have the fun with it, make it playful, but also give us those layers of darkness, and edge, and deep, deep emotion.
- [Fogg] I'd never done anything like this before.
- Don't you dare give up now, Mr.
Fogg.
- That really is Fogg's journey through the story, from someone who really is very ill-equipped to go on this kind of adventure, to someone who discovers that he has resources he didn't realize he had.
That becomes the engine that propels him out of the door and around the world.
