What to Expect in Season 6
Season 6
short | 02:35 | CC
Endeavour star Shaun Evans and the cast introduce you to the new stories, characters and surprises coming in the new season.
(bright snappy music) - What's in store for Endeavour this year?
He begins in a very low place, - I remember, didn't recognize you.
- He's back in uniform, being humiliated.
The uniform wants to make himself useful he can get back on his own ground and search for the girl.
- All the boys are set to go to different places.
The great thing about that, is that it gives you the opportunity to pull the rug from under them, to put them in even more uncomfortable situations than they've been in before.
- I'll let you get settled in.
- The old Cowley Station has been closed down.
And so the lads are put into a new place now with a very different kind of police officer than we've seen before, people who are very kind of alpha male.
Do you mind if I take a look?
- I don't need my work double-checking.
Thank you very much.
- So it gives you an opportunity to have some fresh blood, you know.
Got two terrific actors, Richard Riddell and Simon Harrison, both brilliant actors that came in and just nailed it.
- You're here to follow my orders.
If that's gonna be difficult for you, I suggest you put in for a transfer.
We're at loggerheads right from the start.
- Probably best we leave that to them gets paid to ask those questions, eh?
- He finds Endeavour really irritating.
Well, we've got a tea-urn coming out, if you could find a spot for that?
- Box and Jago, they're not too fussy about how they get the result and about tying up all the ends.
- What if he didn't do it?
- It's a court's business, not ours.
- But I think one has to ring the changes, you know you can't just go on repeating the same thing.
And so the different situations, the characters are thrown into produce different reactions.
- [Box] I'll leave you ladies to it.
- The wonderful thing this series is exploring Strange, as a master bureaucrat, someone who we're used to seeing being perhaps a couple of steps behind.
But now we're seeing Strange's particular talents, put to their best possible use.
The death of George Fancy has affected has Strange in quite a profound way.
It's almost awoken a fire inside him, and is completely focused on justice.
- I don't think I've been a very good wife.
- They were always references to Mrs.
Bright.
And we never really knew whether she existed.
So that's a whole new story.
- [News Broadcaster] Destination moon.
- We always try and take stuff that's happening in the world, and not make a big deal of it, but just have it there as sort of background noise, in a way for authenticity, but also because it was such a fertile time where women were, where civil rights were, what we were achieving in science.
So it gives you an opportunity to create stories within that time.
So yeah, it's good, it's good.
