10 Moments, 10 Seasons
Season 10
short | 02:55 | CC
Rishi Nair, Al Weaver, and more reminisce about some of their favorite scenes from the series over the past 10 seasons.
(upbeat music) - I think one has to be opening scene of Alphy punching Geordie in the face.
- Gotcha.
(Geordie grunting) And so you can imagine coming on set for the first time, being the new kid at school, and your first job is to punch Robson Green in the face.
It was quite nerve-wracking.
I'm calling the police.
- I am the police.
- [Rishi] Definitely one of my favorite highlights.
- In terms of Leonard's storyline, when he had the cafe.
And I like when he is doing his expressive self, when he is kind of doing his performative self.
"The Cherry Orchard."
And he does that a little bit in this one as well when the strippers come to the vicarage.
(Al laughing) Welcome to Tassels, Cambridge's finest erotic establishment.
- There's a standout moment (cheery music) from each series.
This one has to be when me and Melissa were in Grantchester, 'cause we were always in the police station doing that kind of stuff.
It was just so nice to be able to just be with everyone.
It felt very much like a really nice moment of pure Grantchester.
- Outside of the show, there has not been a more wonderful moment than filming this show in the preparation for my actual wedding and being surrounded in the lead up to it by the people that mean so much to you.
So that's a massive one for outside of the show for me.
So one that pops into mind straight away is Merries.
And I think it's because- - [Tessa] Oh, yes.
- we filmed it in the middle of COVID- - COVID.
- and there were so many restrictions and suddenly you are around people and there was colors and the set was absolutely incredible.
- So the joy that first day of just meeting other people again, we'd had six months of just, not apart from your own little bubble, not meeting anyone.
And our job is so social- - Yeah.
- acting, putting on shows is social, and so we'd miss that.
And so to suddenly come back.
- Yeah.
- And it happened to be that multicolored, amazing set.
- Yeah, yeah.
- For Merries Holiday Camp.
- And all the regulars were in because we'd all gone on holiday together.
- [All] Merries.
(camera flashing) - I think inside the show, there's not specific moments, but my gosh, I love just being in this police station with Larry and Alphy and Geordie.
- Evening.
- Hiding, are you?
Yeah.
- A really happy place for me is being back here with the three boys.
I love it.
- Working with Robson, they're my favorite days.
- There's loads of moments where I've struggled to even get through a scene, just the pure comedy involved.
(Bradley laughing) There's earlier stuff with Robson singing in the middle of scenes.
It has been a joy to work on.
- I think also each of the fair ones of the vicars.
- Saying goodbye to James Norton, saying goodbye to Tom Brittney, very sad and emotive, but beautiful at the same time.
- The fact that neither of them wanted to leave a series at the end.
They wanted to come back, do a few and say goodbye.
And I think that's a testament to how much they both enjoyed working on the show.
We sent them off with a little bit of laugh, don't you?
- Yeah.
- And you go, "Be good out there."
(both laughing)
