(gentle orchestral music) - Geordie has this nickname for Alphy, which implies that Alphy has been kind of playing the field a little bit.
- Please don't tell them.
- The Good Reverend Love 'Em And Leave Them.
- Ooh!
- Very good.
I like it.
- I'm not that bad.
- [Rishi] He has been on a few dates with various people, but I think Geordie's kind of teasing him.
- Because he is reminding Alphy in relationships, if you want the good stuff, if you want the stuff that really means something.
- That doesn't happen unless you stick around.
- You love 'em, but don't leave 'em.
- You said it, not me.
- And so like a bold out of the blue, for Alphy, Meg appears.
- And at first, I think he's just attracted to her.
- Are you a Maggie?
A Meg?
- A Margaret.
Until I'm sure I really like you.
- There is a natural spark there between the two of them, but they're both quite independent, so I feel like neither of them wants to admit that that spark is there to start with.
- And then when they kind of get speaking, he realizes that actually, she's quite different to a lot of the girls that he has been on dates with or seen before.
- I couldn't have your phone number, could I?
- No.
- She is super independent.
She is not necessarily gonna give away everything straight away either.
She won't even give him her phone number.
- Do you want to know why?
- (chuckles awkwardly) You don't have to explain.
- Because you'll take my number and I'll become this annoying mooning school girl who sits around just waiting for you to call.
And you never will call, and then I'll be terribly sad.
(Alphy chuckles) - I think that kind of chase for him is interesting.
- [Alphy] Next time we should bring a picnic.
- Next time?
(chuckles) - Will they or won't they?
I think that's an important arc throughout the journey.
- Oh God.
- Oh.
- [Alphy] Oh God.
Oh God.
- Dad.
- We find out Meg is the bishop's daughter.
That obviously puts a spanner in the works.
And they try and work through that.
- Come over for dinner.
I'll cook.
- A date?
- Hm, let's call it an apology.
- Oh, I'll be calling it great expectations.
(Alphy chuckles) - It's interesting watching their kind of relationship progress over time and watch the walls come down between the two of them.
- Meg... - What is love?
We try and describe it so many times, but you don't know it until it hits you, man.
Straight between the eyes.
