- So the day of the audition, and you came in, and you were photoshopped, weren't you?
(laughing) I thought, "He looks beautiful".
He's too good looking, I don't like him.
- Well, I was seeing Robson Green in the flesh.
Robson Green, who my mum warned me before would be, oh he'll be, he will be a right sort, they always are, those TV actors.
(laughs) (classical music) - A path through life would be pretty lonely without anyone to share it with.
- This series, our friendship is, well and truly blossoming.
And the thing with Will is that he's, he has a hole missing in his life.
(classical music) And Geordie becomes that father figure, and a best friend.
(classical music) - When we first saw Tom and Robson together, we all breathed a sigh of relief really because, that that chemistry was there.
- Did you look at the driver?

- Make of car?
- Maybe.
- Numberplate?
- Yes.

There's a warmth and a humor to them, they're not just solving a crime, they're friends as well.
- Like anything, you've got to really like a person behind the lens, and enjoy their company for it to resonate in front of the lens.
And I really genuinely like Tom.
