- I look forward to this part of the shoots more than anything else.
- A holiday with your best friend.
- It is, it is.
- We're staying in a hotel and getting to work in wonderful Grantchester.
- Had you seen Grantchester before you auditioned?
- No, I don't really like shows about vicars and detectives.
(laughter) (tranquil music) - So, the day of the audition, and you came in and your were photoshopped weren't you?
I thought, "He looks beautiful.
"He's too good looking, I don't like him."
- Well, I was seeing Robson Green in the flesh.
Robson Green, who my mum warned me before would be, "Oh, he'll be a right sort.
"They always are, those TV actors."
- I've never done a show like this where it's not only likable to the viewer, but it's likable to the actor as well.
- Yeah.
- I mean, seriously, it is not a chore.
- I'd do this for free, hanging out with you.
- I wouldn't do it, I'd need expenses.
- Yeah, saying it out loud that's what it feels- - You know, for the flights, and the five star hotel and along with spa.
But, other than that, yes I would do it for free.
- [Tom] I have a feeling that I've solved every single crime that I'd ever been a part of.
- So, you've been in Grantchester for two series now.
So you've solved about, what, 11 crimes?
- Yeah, about 11 crimes.
- I've been in it for five years, 31 episodes, how many crimes do you think I've solved?
- Surely one?
- But I realize I do solve them because it's my intuition into the crime that you pick up on, isn't it?
- Sure.
- It's the relationship.
It's the ying and the yang.
- It's true.
- It's the likability- - It just happens.
- That's right.
- You need a vicar to help solve your crimes.
- It's interesting, isn't it, why this show is so popular.
Now only here, and around the world, and why the, kind of, likability transcends everywhere.
- Look, I've gotta go and do a sermon.
- Go on then.
- I'll see you in a bit.
- Love you.
- Bye.
- He's too good looking, I don't like him.
(laughs)
