- It's amazing to be back.
- We call Grantchester our happy place, and despite everything that is going on in the world, this experience still remains to be a really happy experience.
- Everyone's having fun, they decided they need to go on holiday and probably more than anyone, Will, needs a holiday.
I didn't cancel Bible study.
- Oh no, no, no.
- What?
- No talking about work.
We're on holiday.
- Because Cathy is working in Swinnertons we decided she had access to lots of frocks, and Cathy goes to town.
- We sometimes forget with Mrs.
Chapman, she doesn't leave the village much, and so for her to be in this holiday camp, she's happier than she's ever been.
- Oh, I love a conga line!
- It was a great way to start, because the one thing about Grantchester, it really does rely on color and happiness and the love between all the central characters.
- [Unison] Merries!
- But, unfortunately, it being Grantchester that's not gonna last very long.
- We can never be ourselves, even on holiday, we can't be us.
- This is you, correct?
- Who'd do this?
- I don't know.
- You tell the truth and he's done for.
- He has to decide whether to lie or stand up to his true self.
It sets in motion journeys for all the other characters in terms of their beliefs, what's morally right, what's legally, right.
- It's barely a crime.
- Except it is, Cathy.
- It's a longer season, quite a mammoth of a series as well.
- This is Tamara, my step sister.
- Daddy.
- St.
John's daughter who he hasn't met before this, wayward, free spirit.
- I suppose I've just been spoiled.
- Geordie's seeking help because of this terrible secret.
And the only person he can talk to is Will.
- There's a lot of really big questions which have been raised and answered and it's entertaining and the crimes are good.
And I think the audience is going to really, really like it.
- Series six is the best series yet.
- I always say that, but I truly believe that this is, because the storylines are so powerful for everyone.
