(upbeat music) - [Jamie] Jake is one of two brothers, him and Max have an estranged relationship.
- He was kind of the apple of mom's eye and I wasn't, and he was very much the artistic, sensitive artist, to my driven megalomaniac.
(Mark laughs) - The fact that Mark and Jamie went to school together, I think you instantly see that chemistry between them.
- [Mark] We went to Leith Academy, which is just down there, together.
- It's well documented that I've known Mark for a long, long time, since we were both 11, but never worked with him before.
This is brilliant, we couldn't choose a better thing to be doing together.
- I know, I know.
- It's great fun.
And back in Edinburgh, albeit for just a few days, but it's just great to be back home.
- [Robert] Right from when I first met them, I thought, "Oh, this is gold."
And that informed a kind of shooting style for me.
Quite a lot of the time what that became a really enjoyable thing of doing was just going, "Let's just let Jamie and Mark be in the shot together, like trap them together, and just see what they do when they're together.
How they look at each other."
The only problem with that was sometimes they were just always laughing during their takes.
(Robert laughs) - When they're on set together, they're like brothers, there's a lot of energy.
Also, sometimes they're like kids when they're on set together.
(Ruth laughs) A lot of singing and private jokes, but they've got such a great chemistry.
- [Jamie] Sometimes you do a job and you have to your work on the relationship, you have to do relationship exercises in order to build something with someone.
We've came along with that, and so we can afford to work on other things.
- He's brilliant, Jamie's brilliant.
I still find myself admiring his work, when I'm supposed to be acting with him, I'm going, "My God, you're really good."
- I've had a ball working with Mark.
It's been a long time coming, but it's great.
I've had a real, real great time with him.
He's quite good at this acting malarkey, I've had to raise my game, I'll tell you.
(both giggling) (upbeat music)
