Playing Kate Middleton

(dramatic music) - The character that I play is Kate Middleton, the Kate Middleton of Mike Bartlett's created world of what would happen if these public figures that we feel we know so well were in this situation.

And I think the journey that Kate goes on is a really fascinating one and one that really drew me to wanting to play the part, because she's not necessarily the... The figure that we all have in our minds of what Kate Middleton is like.

Aren't you?

She's incredibly forward with her opinions and moving things forward for the royal family, and she encourages William to become the man that she knows he can be and lead from the front as opposed to taking a back seat in his involvement with his father.

So, what's your plan?

She's almost like the CEO of a business.

She's pragmatic and she feels that the choices that she's making and the encouragement that she's giving is for the greater good of... I don't see her as being self-seeking or ambitious.

I feel that she's doing what she thinks is right.
