- Doesn't seem like anyone's in there.
- Should we call for a locksmith?
(wood splintering) I'll take that as a no then.
- So we start Season 3 with Fitzroy and Duke where they've got this new relationship.
It's like a bromance, you know there's such a comfortability there and that relationship is a joy to sort of play out.
- The Duke sees in Fitzroy that blissful ignorance to the woes of the world.
And Fitzroy, I think does bring out the best in him at times and his really compassionate side, which is a lovely side for us to see of the Duke when he's usually going around shouting at people.
- Tell me about the case.
- Yes sir.
Of course sir.
- You know, he's got this sort of excited puppy, you know excited to be there and he just plays the character brilliantly.
You know, he really sort of lays up the right amount of energy and excitement to allow Duke just to come in and sort of cut him down.
- Has she never mentioned anything about me?
- Who sir?
- Miss Scarlet.
- Was there something in particular I was supposed to look for?
'Cause I must confess women are still something of a mystery to me.
- Just get in and stop talking.
- Myself and Stuart were talking about this when we were doing some of the scenes, we actually find, because the Duke is such a strong, manly character and very serious and he knows what he's doing.
The contrast of having Fitzroy there actually, 'cause Fitzroy can be quite funny, but having the contrast there makes the Duke's comedy come across a lot more.
That kind of dry humor or sarcasm.
(Door Knocking) - Not entirely sure what animal this gray meat belongs to, or indeed if it's animal at all.
- No, thank you sir.
I'm in training.
Apparently I ought to be eating a large quantity of meat whilst avoiding too much fat and pastry has far too much fat.
- Yes, so you have explained several times.
Got something for me?
- I believe so, sir.
- I love, love, love, love Fitzroy.
I think he's just a brilliant, brilliant actor, Evan.
He's just owned that character from day one.
And just to see the evolution of the character from being this terrified little posh little boy into being a confident detective has been great.
- Do you hear that?
- Hear what sir?
- That lady screaming for help from behind that locked door.
- I see, very good.
- Hurry up, she sounds desperate.
(upbeat music)
