(gentle music) - In season three, Eliza and Nash, their relationship has changed.
Because Eliza is more willing to work with him.
- Hmm.
Mr.
Nash.
- Come now, we're long past such manners.
Call me Patrick.
- I find him really fascinating to write for.
He has so many layers to him.
And I do love seeing him play against Eliza.
- How's it going?
Have you found him?
- Not as yet, no.
- Well, good luck to you.
- Felix Scott, who plays him, is exceptional, and they have so much chemistry.
- He is fantastic.
- And he gets some great one-liners as well.
- You going to the office?
- Isn't that why I pay you?
You're never quite sure what you're getting with him.
- It's gonna be a two-man job.
- That mysterious nature to him, and who he is, and what his background is.
- As it happens, I used to box for County Wickler.
- I think Nash refers to himself and Eliza as survivors because, well quite frankly, it's a dog eat dog world out there.
That's why we should work together.
(Scarlet laughs) - It's something that both of them do very well.
Is not allowing other people's views and opinions to get in the way of what they want to achieve.
- There's certain characters that you write that you do have to up your game.
It pretty much every word that comes out of his mouth has got to have a particular rhythm to it and a point to it.
- We're from different agencies.
Well, I say agency.
Unlike myself, Miss Scarlet is a one man band.
- So episode three is a key episode for Eliza and Nash.
They're forced to work together, and although it doesn't go smoothly.
- Anybody who is working with Eliza, or is close to Eliza, is competition for the Duke.
We can go into town, have some breakfast.
It's a really exciting, in that sense, to look into that relationship and allow them that time to do that.
But no kissing.
- Patrick.
Oh, please don't start that again.
- Did you just call me Patrick?
- It was a slip of the tongue, I'm tired.
It's progress.
It's real progress.
- Whoa, what are you talking about, Nash?
- It's a really interesting shift that they make, and actually quite a sweet one.
- You keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
