(unintelligible speech) He comes back into Poldark after being away from the area for 13 years.
- I thought you were dead.
- There's a great line in the actual Poldark's books is that Tholly's scar makes Ross Poldark's scar look like a cat scratch.
- My scar is, yes, it's a baby scar in comparison to what Sean Gilder has going on.
But he looks incredible.
- I think it's about an hour and a quarter to make him up, skin texturing breakdown that goes down on the face, obviously, the dirty and damp.
This is the board that we store Tholly's pieces on.
This is one of the silicone pieces which is the main part of the scar.
- She very cleverly puts some fish-skin over the eye.
I kind of got waterboarded for an afternoon, it was going right up my nose.
My voice was right down here, and I then came off set and Joss, the director just went, "You're stuck with that now, "mate, you've got to keep that voice 'cause it's "absolutely brilliant!"
(unintelligible speaking) He was a sailor, a wheeler-dealer.
That's what I calls it.
You wants it, I ferrets it out.
And I think the function of Tholly is to come in and show the audience the youthful, renegade, sort of edgy Ross is still there.
