(chattering) - We talked long and hard about how we should finish the fourth series.
We thought we want to have a last supper.
A Durrell's last supper.
- It was episode one or two of series one.
We had the dining in the sea, and we haven't had it since.
And now it makes a return for the final scene, and it's just a lovely, lovely way to end the series.
- It really did have to end with that scene.
- While filming, the sea was coming higher and higher up.
- It was like this mini tsunami that kind of rose out of the Mediterranean.
- The chairs were going, like.
(laughing) What's going on?
- It's just horrible sitting with a wet bottom.
(laughs) - And props were falling, and chairs are falling, and we were falling into the sea.
- We got it done in the end, but it was a cheat with using a big deck below the water, covered in lots of sea grass and stones to disguise it.
- The Durrells, nothing's ever gonna go too smoothly.
- We've had real laugh.
And that's what I think's the most important thing when you're working, is to have a good time doing it.
- Boy, it's a long time, particularly with the younger cast, to watch them grow up.
All of those things that make you very close.
I'll miss all of it.
- There is something about all being together in costume, making this thing together.
- I'll miss fighting with the boys.
I'll miss Louisa, the crew, and I'm gonna miss Margo.
- I will miss the Durrells more than you could possibly imagine.
- We have been totally blessed.
And, it's very moving.
