(inquiring music) - So, the backpack became a hashtag and it started with, why does he have a backpack for a start?
And secondly, why did he only carry it on one shoulder?
That then grew into a sort of game, which is, that I asked the costume department to fill the bag so it looks like, you know, you've got to look like it's got stuff in it.
I said, don't tell me what's in it and I will open it at the end of the day and it'll be a surprise to me.
So when the episodes were going out, I would post on social media a picture of the contents of the backpack and this just became a huge thing that kind of just went round the world.
Given the stories are inherently quite dark and we're dealing with the underbelly of the human condition, it just became this really great fun thing to do.
The ludicrous things that have been stuffed in there have just been extraordinary.
I mean, from a minion, one of those foam fingers, a whole fresh pineapple and I said the fun thing for me was I genuinely would not look in it until we'd finished filming and so it was always genuinely a surprise.
