(dramatic music) - I hadn't known everything about Henry, and I learned a lot reading about him.
(audience claps) - Majesty.
- In Hilary's books she's written a much more rounded, complex Henry than you might be used to seeing.
Just a lovely impression of this man who sought normalizing experiences.
I've written a play.
His multi-faceted skills, his talents, his interests... My own story.
His tenderness, at times.
He wasn't this drumstick chewing, tossing, syphilitic, philandering, bloated king.
You know, Henry VIII was a svelte, slim, athletic 32, 34 inch waisted man into his 40s.
There's some suggestion that he composed Greensleeves, which I think you guys know here in America as well.
"Greensleeves and a--" (sings tune with da-da-da's).
Anyway, so, he might have composed that himself.
All these things just make him a... Make him a fascinating character to play.
He's a fascinating character.
