(doorbell rings) - Mrs. Chase, James Danemere.
I understand you've been expecting me.
I'm delighted to meet you.
I hope this is the right house.
It is Mrs. Chase, isn't it?
- Mark Bonnar?
Oh, he's great.
I'd never worked with him before, always wanted to work with him because I've really admired him from afar for many years.
I was really pleased when they cast him, also, he's a bit younger than me, so it makes me look really good.
- She's great fun.
I really love Lesley.
I love working with her, and my God, she is good.
You up your level a little bit when you start working with people like that, you sort of go, "Oh, oh God.
I better be good.
I better be good.
Do your best."
But no, it's great, I've really enjoyed working with Lesley.
- Sir James, we haven't known each other very long, but I would think that you should know by now that I'm not one of those silly child women who can be patronized and appeased with the promise of treats.
- [Mark] We were just shooting a scene, which is probably Sir James's first kind of romantic approach to her.
- He's giving her a picnic in the garden and you know, he's pulling all the stops out and says, "Oh, isn't this nice, you and me?"
- Now I see it all.
You're a black marketeer.
- You mustn't trust me, not an inch.
You've too much to protect.
- Well, I mean, he compliments her and he says he's enjoying being with her, and he's put on this lovely spread for her, you know, so he's kind of trying to woo, I think, fairly successfully.
- [Lesley] She's being flirted with for five minutes, so she's let her hair down, literally.
- In one breath, you've compared me to a dog, a porcupine and a donkey.
- And yet there's no woman I admire more.
- Yeah, I think it works.
Champagne and the caviar, and of course my company, they seem to be doing what they're supposed to do.
- And she's not prepared for that at all.
And then all sorts of things happen because she doubts him and then she thinks he's a good guy, but maybe a good guy who's a bit edgy, but then maybe she likes him because he's a bit edgy.
- Perhaps next time you'll give love a chance.
- Next time?
Goodness, no, I don't think there'll be a next time.
- I don't see why not.
A woman like you can't be short of suitors.
- So God knows where that's gonna go.
You'll have to come back to series 12.
- You're quite right.
Unforgivably smooth.
