Filming Begins on Miss Scarlet and The Duke Season 2
Stars Kate Phillips and Stuart Martin Return for More Will-They-Won’t-They Sleuthing on the MASTERPIECE Fan-Favorite Series
August 25, 2021; Boston, MA – Filming has begun on the second season of the popular mystery series, Miss Scarlet and The Duke. The show is co-produced by Element 8 Entertainment and MASTERPIECE and created by Rachael New. Filming is taking place in Belgrade, Serbia.
In a photo released by MASTERPIECE (see above), fans get a first look at returning stars Kate Phillips (The Crown, Wolf Hall) and Stuart Martin (Jamestown) as the titular characters. In Season 2, London’s first-ever female detective, Eliza Scarlet (Phillips) continues to grow her private detective firm with the somewhat reluctant help of her friend (or more-than-friend?) police detective William “The Duke” Wellington (Martin).
Kate Phillips says, “It’s like no time has passed at all. We’ve slipped right back into the same old Duke and Eliza dynamic. If anything, it feels richer and more playful than ever. I can’t wait for our MASTERPIECE audience to see it.”
Stuart Martin adds, “I’m beyond delighted to be back in Duke’s bowler hat and boots, swaggering the streets of London by Kate’s side. To return to this rich, wonderful world and the characters that Rachael has created, with this incredible team, it feels like we’re home. I can’t wait for our MASTERPIECE family and fans to see where Eliza and Duke go next, and who they bump into on the way.”
Miss Scarlet and The Duke Season 2 will appear on MASTERPIECE on PBS in 2022. MASTERPIECE is presented on PBS by GBH Boston.
