Fun Facts About the Grantchester Cast
You may know the beloved characters of Grantchester pretty well after 11 seasons, but the cast still had some fun, fresh, surprising facts about themselves to confess to fans. Read on for some shocking reveals, including a cast member who loves fireworks, one who has their own farm, and much more.
Don't forget to tune in for the premiere of the eleventh and final season of Grantchester on Sunday, June 14 at 9/8c on MASTERPIECE on PBS.
Rishi Nair (Alphy Kottaram)
"One thing fans would be surprised to learn about me is that I didn't actually study acting," he confessed. "I never went to drama school. I went to university and studied law instead."

Robson Green (Geordie Keating)
"I love fireworks," said Green. "My beautiful son, Taylor, for a 40th birthday present, got me a pyrotechnics course, basically showing me how to make fireworks and they taught me about category four displays and category five displays."
He continued, "As a goodbye and thank you to the team of Grantchester and the people of Grantchester, I put on a display and it was one to remember. It was so beautiful. We'd just shot the final scene, which was an incredibly emotional day. It was our fond farewell to Grantchester and for 11 minutes, I just blew stuff up in the most beautiful and colorful way that people just loved, and the energy and the vibe were so great."

Tessa Peake-Jones (Mrs. C.)
"I do Zumba classes, that might surprise people," Peake-Jones said. "You just dance for an hour...it's really good for your brain because you have to learn different steps every week. You're in a room with a whole load of people, it's just like being on a disco floor. I do lots of classes at a gym, but I always do it with people. I can't do stuff on my own. I think deep down, it's because it reminds me of being in a rehearsal room. When you're together, you're all there and you're sharing and you're working towards making something good."

Kacey Ainsworth (Cathy Keating)
"I think my fans would be surprised to learn that I live on a farm," Ainsworth revealed. "I think they would be surprised to see me out of the show, and the fact that I'm normally wearing like a woolly cap and a pair of overtrousers and boots and generally look like a farm girl."
"I've got lots of dogs, but I have a dog called Leonard," she continued. "So I have a Jack Russell Terrier called Leonard after Al [Weaver]'s character. I don't know if anyone out there has got Jack Russell Terrier, but there's a neurosis with Jack Russell Terriers, and there is the same with Leonard."

Melissa Johns (Miss Scott)
Johns pondered and then confessed to quite a few facts about herself, such as, "My dad is a Romani Gypsy, so I'm half Romani Gypsy. I think that that's always one that people don't understand."
She continued on: "I write as well, so I'm developing two other shows at the moment. What else? I can't cook. Terrible at cooking. So is Miss Scott."
Then, she shared, "I used to go around telling everyone I was ambidextrous because I had just found out this new word and I didn't know what it meant. So you can imagine a little eight year old me going around telling people that I was ambidextrous and people having to look at me and go, 'Are you? Right. Okay then.' Sometimes I think back on that now as a 35 year old and think, 'Oh God, you know when you look back on things that you've said in your life and you're like, why did I say that? Why did eight year old me tell people I was ambidextrous when I didn't know what it meant?' It means that you can use both hands."

Bradley Hall (Larry Peters)
"I think fans would be surprised to know that I used to be a really, really good dancer," Hall divulged. "Ballet, jazz, tap. When I was a kid, I was insanely good. Billy Elliot good, and now it's gone. It's all gone, which is such a shame. I think people are surprised when I've shown pictures or videos of what I was doing when I was a kid. I think people are like, 'Wow, was that you?' It's so weird to think that that was me, but I was a really, really good dancer."

Al Weaver (Leonard Finch)
After some contemplation, Weaver confessed that one fun fact about him is, "Oh! I don't dress like this in real life."
