What’s Ahead in All Creatures Great and Small Season 6
It’s May, 1945 in the glorious Yorkshire Dales—a time jump since the utterly heartwarming Season 5 finale when Mrs. Hall learned that her son, Edward, was alive after the sinking of the HMS Repulse. Victory in Europe is nigh, but that’s not the only change: Mrs. Hall has been living with Edward and his new family in Sunderland, while the Herriots, including James and Helen’s second child, the adorable Rosie, have decamped to Heston Grange. When Tristan returns from the front, he finds Siegfried in a state of complete chaos and James trying to juggle it all. With the promise of peace on the horizon at last, who can bring peace back to Skeldale House? Why, Mrs. Hall, of course!
Restoring harmony at the house will prove to be a task worthy of the mighty Mrs. Hall in a season replete with renewed—and new—connections, animal and human hijinks, and a brighter future for all, including the next generation of Herriots!
New Characters & Animals of All Creatures Great and Small Season 6
The biggest surprise of all the new characters is the cuddly little cutie-pie, Rosie Herriot. Also joining are Gaia Wise (The Dead of Winter) as posh horse-lover Charlotte Beauvoir, and Jonathan Hyde (The Brutalist) as her father, General Beauvoir. Of filming with Hyde, Samuel West (Siegfried Farnon) quipped, “the last time I worked with him, I stabbed him to death in the capitol—he was Julius Caesar, and I was Brutus. He was very nice about it when we met on set this series.”
New animals to look forward to include a sheepdog named Fly, a whippet named Blackpool Rock, a salty parrot named George, and a magnificent Shire horse named Weissmuller. Plus, a Shetland pony makes a small but memorable appearance, lambs are born, and Helga the goat returns.
