The Gold | Season 2
Reopen your investigation of The Gold when it returns for its final season. This acclaimed crime drama is inspired by the real story of one Britain’s largest robberies—when small-time criminals unexpectedly found themselves with three tons of gold bullion. Season 1 followed the astonishing 1983 Brink’s-Mat heist and how £26 million in gold was smelted and slipped back into circulation. Season 2 picks up as police realize they’ve only been chasing half of what was taken. The series is taut, smart, and surprisingly witty, led by Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, Paddington) and Jack Lowden (Slow Horses).
Airdate: While we know The Gold Season 2 will air in 2026, no exact date has been made public. If you didn’t catch The Gold Season 1, watch it whenever you want with PBS Passport.
