Ridley Road Coming to MASTERPIECE on PBS

(September 22, 2020) MASTERPIECE announced today that Ridley Road, a coproduction with RED Production Company (a STUDIOCANAL company) and BBC One, is now in production.
Ridley Road is a thriller adapted by award-winning writer Sarah Solemani (Barry, Aphrodite Fry) from the critically acclaimed novel by Jo Bloom. Bringing together an award-winning cast, including Rory Kinnear (No Time to Die, The Imitation Game), Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan, Little Dorrit), and Tom Varey (Game of Thrones).
Ridley Road tells the story of Vivien Epstein, a young Jewish woman played by Aggi O’Casey in her first television role. After falling in love with a member of the ‘62 Group’, she rejects her comfortable middle-class life in Manchester and joins the fight against fascism in London, risking everything for her beliefs and for the man she loves. Inspired by true events, Ridley Road follows Vivien as she goes undercover into the NSM, a neo-Nazi movement which is becoming increasingly prominent in London.
Rebecca Eaton, Executive Producer-at-Large for MASTERPIECE says, “We are especially proud to partner with Nicola Shindler at RED and with BBC One on Ridley Road. A compelling story of love and resistance is as important now as it ever was in the turbulent 1960s. A well-told drama illuminates past and present as little else can.”
MASTERPIECE is presented on PBS by GBH Boston.
