What Is Sanditon and What Can We Expect?

Sanditon is a sleepy seaside village, but for those with vision, like Tom Parker, it’s on its way to becoming a deluxe and fashionable resort! As for Sanditon the TV series, it’s is a bold adaptation of Jane Austen’s final, unfinished work, about what happens when the spirited yet levelheaded Charlotte Heywood arrives in Sanditon as Parker’s guest…and what happens when she goes head-to-head with his witty, prickly, yet decidedly handsome brother, Sidney.

We can expect: Beaches and balls, romance and intrigue, fortune hunters and heart breakers, assembly rooms and bathing machines and much, much more! Plus, Sanditon is Jane Austen by way of master Austen adapter Andrew Davies (Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Northanger Abbey and Emma, plus Bridget Jones’s Diary), so we can expect sparkling wit and addictive drama, as well as love with all its attendant triangles and obstacles.
