Questions, Answers, & Interesting Tidbits
Photo by Stephanie Berger Later at the event, Jenna Coleman (Victoria), Rufus Sewell (Lord Melbourne), Daisy Goodwin (Writer/Creator) and Damien Timmer (Executive Producer) joined MASTERPIECE Executive Producer Rebecca Eaton for a Q&A panel, which gave attending fans the chance to ask their burning questions.
One fan wondered, “What about Victoria’s personality or her surroundings that really gave her the grit to be the tremendous leader that she was?”
Writer/Creator Daisy Goodwin answered, “I think it’s because she had a very miserable upbringing. She was literally under house arrest for most of her childhood…A lesser woman might have just accepted that and become their sort of creature, as it were, but…I think it was through adversity she learned a kind of strength that got her through her adult life.”

Midday Chat
Jenna, Rufus, and Daisy joined Mary Harris of Midday on WNYC and discussed what they each love about Victoria, how the Queen revolutionized royal births, and the modern-day monarchy.

Style Queen
Inspired by Victorian fashion, Jenna Coleman recently appeared in InStyle and explored the many layers (literally) of her character.
Coleman told Instyle, “After seven months of filming, I wanted to throw my corset in the bin,” she says. “You’re forced to walk around so demurely when you wear one, and I honestly don’t know how women did it. They wore so many layers too. Each dress basically has a big duvet underneath.”
Victoria Season 2 premieres Sunday, January 14th, 2018 at 9/8c on MASTERPIECE!
