Teacher's Guide Moves to the Web

As of fall 2003, the NOVA Teacher's Guide has moved exclusively to the Web to help provide you easy access to hundreds of lesson plans, interactives for students, and up-to-date TV schedule and program information. Find the new guide at http://www.pbs.org/nova/teachers/

The new online Teacher's Guide provides you with program information, lesson plans, and related NOVA resources for more than 200 NOVA programs on the Web, including:

  • Classroom activities that span subject areas such as anthropology/archeology, chemistry, earth science, forensics, health science, life science, mathematics, physics, social studies, and technology/engineering.

  • One-page digests for each NOVA Web site that provide summaries of Web features with grade-level designations.

  • Interactives that provide ways for students to learn key concepts through online challenges, step-through animations, and explanatory simulations.

Resources are available by program title or subject area interests. The site also profiles how other teachers are using NOVA and offers a section where you can view video clips and NOVA programs online. In addition, you can sign up for a weekly e-mail bulletin reminding you of upcoming NOVA programs and related Web resources.

We hope you will visit our new site and tell us how you are using NOVA and the Teacher's Guide in the classroom. Let us know what works and what doesn't. Your feedback will be very useful in helping us design a guide that is best suited to your needs. Please send your comments to
