Pancreas
For diabetics whose pancreases are failing, scientists are
working on a way to implant insulin-producing cells that won't
be rejected by a patient's body. Drawn from pig pancreases,
these cells are enclosed in a membrane that blocks the body's
immune response while allowing the cells to create insulin.
