Air mass moves in
An air mass moves toward a mountain.

This air mass contains water vapor molecules (in a gaseous state), which it picked up when it passed over a source such as an ocean or lake, and water evaporated. The evaporation process stored energy in the form of heat within the water vapor molecules.
