Locating all original pieces
In order to create the most
faithful restoration, the team has sought from the beginning to
salvage whatever ancient marble blocks have survived. This has been
easier said than done. Tens of thousands of original pieces exist,
some scattered around the Acropolis, others around the world, and
still others lost forever. Whatever pieces the team is missing they
have to recreate.
