Maybe they will see Nova and conclude that they don't have to contact us because we will have already destroyed ourselves before they can arrive.
There is no chance that our signals would ever fade because of the internet. Radio spectrum is just to valuable now and into the future. They just might need more sofisticated computers to decode the digital data in our radios transmissions.
