Meet the Expedition Team
by Kelly Tyler
On October 19, 1999, the Akademik Shuleykin and the
Laurel set sail for the Antarctic to revisit the fabled locales of Sir
Ernest Shackleton's 1914 expedition. Forty strong, the combined crew of
NOVA and White Mountain Films retraced the odyssey of the Endurance
to film the story for NOVA.
In April 2000, the Shuleykin set sail once again, this time with a crew
to replicate Shackleton's traverse of South Georgia Island. Meet the teams behind
the upcoming large-format film The Endurance: Shackleton's Epic Journey and
the NOVA program.
