Mobile Servicing System Built by the same Canadian group that designed the robotic arm on the space shuttle, the MSS is a giant robotic arm (56 feet long when fully extended) that will be able to "walk" around the space station. It will support astronauts as they conduct spacewalks, move supplies and equipment around the station, capture and release satellites, and maintain instruments and payloads affixed to the station's exterior.
