Dubbed "Raffaello" by its builders, the Italian Space Agency, the MPLM will serve the role of a moving van. Packed with experiments, equipment, and other supplies, the MPLM will ride aboard the space shuttle, which will attach it to the ISS for unloading using the shuttle's robotic arm. The ISS will eventually have three such units.
