In Search of Human Origins, Part III

Student Handout

Back to the Present

If a group of anthropologists from the 23rd century were to find your classroom, perfectly preserved, what would be the most significant clues they would find to determine who used this room and what its purpose was? What do you predict they would be able to interpret without a doubt? What clues might lead them to inaccurate conclusions?

In the box below, draw a diagram of the classroom, including ten items that you think would give the best clues about the room.

Exchange your map with another student and ask him or her to write down some of the inaccurate theories that anthropologists might make based on what is included in the diagram.
