Evaluating Drug Development

In this activity, you will learn about the phases a new drug goes through before it is approved by the FDA and released to the public.

Procedure

1. Your group will be given a page of Development Steps defining the steps in developing a new drug. Read the definitions and work with your group to arrange them in the most likely order.

2. Use the large paper and markers to create a flowchart to show how you think the steps are ordered.

3. Be prepared to share your flowchart with the class and support your arrangement of the steps.
