Wanted—Butch and Sundance

Program Overview

In this program a scientist applies his particular expertise to track down two notorious outlaws nearly 100 years after they are thought to have died. Clyde Snow, a leading forensic anthropologist, has been hunting for the remains of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Snow's investigation involves separating scientific fact from the legend of these famous outlaws. His search involves collecting historic documents, measuring skeletal remains, evaluating data with computer imaging processes, and DNA analysis. Many of the methods featured in this program were developed by Snow and his colleagues for identifying the victims of accidents and crimes, and for solving present-day mysteries.
