How Youngstown, OH Plans to Overcome Decades of Decline

Many of the nation’s most economically distressed populations, as mapped by zip code, are concentrated in the so-called “rust belt” across the upper midwest. A city that has become the poster child for that distress and deindustrialization is Youngstown, OH, which still suffers from high unemployment and crime rates. After decades of decline, Youngstown is innovating to rebuild homes, remove blight, and attract employers.
