Eshawney Gaston is a mother and low-wage worker who joined the wave of labor uprisings sweeping the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite working two jobs – which take up most of her days and nights, with little rest in between – she still does not make enough money and must make tough choices. Her prematurely-born son has health issues that require many medical appointments. And each doctor’s appointment means time away from work. With no paid time off, the burden of bills keeps on growing. “A Fight for More Than $15” – the second episode of the series Insecurity – tells her story.
