Digital Extra: Nat Glover on implicit bias in the criminal justice system

In this extended Road Scholars interview clip, Nat Glover, the first Black sheriff elected in Florida since the Reconstruction era, shares his experiences and observations on implicit bias and racism in the criminal justice system. He also expresses how education, if it was affordable, could be a transformational opportunity and solution for young people on the street.

Glover reunited with some of the young men whom he mentored back in 2009 when they all took part in an oral history project. During intimate conversations recorded in 2023, they talk about navigating the reality of being a Black man in America today.
