Shifting Mindset and Building Wealth: Welcome to “Hay Dinero”
Get ready to dive into a journey that’s set to reshape your relationship with money!
Picture this: Candid conversations, heart-to-heart interviews, and tangible advice, all rolled into a five-part docuseries. Meet the host, journalist, and social entrepreneur Cindy Y. Rodriguez. Throughout this series, Cindy will be taking us on her own money journey while also going deep into the cultural fabric that shapes our attitudes toward money. It’s not just about financial education here; it’s about using that knowledge as a vehicle for social justice and empowerment.
Why? Because members of the Latinx community are no strangers to progress – a fact borne out by their increasing purchasing power. However, as the community’s influence grows, it’s imperative to address the disparities that still persist. Latinas in particular face unique challenges, with the gender pay gap projected to cost the average Latina a jaw-dropping $1.2 million over her career. Beyond this, a lack of financial literacy is leaving too many Latinas unprepared for their retirement years.
Enter “Hay Dinero.” It’s not just a docuseries. It’s a movement. At its core, this series aims to arm the Latinx community with practical financial planning tools while shining a spotlight on the intricate links between culture and generational trauma.
Some of the concepts that will be discussed in the five episodes of “Hay Dinero” are:
Generational Trauma
In the first leg of our money journey, we’re diving headfirst into our money mindset. We’re talking about the impact of financial generational trauma and how it manifests in our lives. Meet Haizel McIntyre, the creator of “Making Money Movers,” who shares insights on preventing financial struggles from taking a toll on our well-being. Plus, Cindy and her niece Andrea share a heart-to-heart on setting money goals and embracing self-compassion.
