Small Businesses After Hurricane Maria


Along Baldorioty de Castro Avenue in Puerto Rico, Teresa and Raymond, a couple, describe their story as small business owners of a restaurant called Pomarosa. The restaurant, along with their apartment above it, was destroyed by Hurricane Maria. But the couple opened up shop to provide free meals to locals in need, all the while contemplating the idea of leaving for mainland U.S. With all of the devastation from the storm, economists lament on the state of Puerto Rico’s businesses after the storm.
