NARRATOR: It's not easy to get a handle on black America.
There are an awful lot of African-Americans doing awfully well.
But at the same time, nearly 40% of all black children in America are poor.
For every DOLLAR of wealth in the hands of the average white family,
the typical black family has just a little more than a NICKEL.
Where does the middle class fit into this picture?
