Grew up on a dead-end, dirt road in the Adirondacks. Many times, there was no electricity, running water or indoor plumbing. Kicked out of my home at 17 by an alcoholic father, I earned an Associates degree while working part time. I joined the US Army, but was discharged after injury at Ft Benning. I worked in quality assurance, as a service advisor, logger, carpenter and in retail to make ends meet. I finally earned a BA, became a history teacher. In the following 20 years, I earned an MSEd, CAS, and work as a principal for students with disabilities and autism. I am currently working on my doctorate.
