“Largo al factotum” is Figaro’s entrance aria in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia. The opening lines translate as, “Make way for the factotum (servant) of the city, Hurrying to his shop since dawn is already here. Ah, what a fine life, what fine pleasure for a barber of quality!”

This is Christopher Maltman’s first Metropolitan Opera performance as Figaro, the title role of a barber, whose skills extend far beyond hair-cutting.
