Great Performances at the Met: The Merry Widow - The Men of The Merry Widow

Nathan Gunn, Sir Thomas Allen, and the male ensemble perform an excerpt from Act II of Lehár’s The Merry Widow — “Who Can Tell What the Hell Women Are?” The Merry Widow is the Met debut of Broadway director Susan Stroman. Soprano Renée Fleming is Hanna, the rich widow. Sir Andrew Davis conducts the cast that also includes baritone Nathan Gunn as Hanna’s lover Danilo; tenor Alek Shrader as the young nobleman Camille de Rosillon; baritone Sir Thomas Allen as the scheming Baron Zeta; and Broadway star Kelli O’Hara as the Baron’s coquettish wife Valencienne.
