Swedish baritone Peter Mattei is the knight Wolfram in GP at the Met: Tannhäuser, Otto Schenk’s production of Richard Wagner’s opera. Here Mattei sings “Song to the Evening Star” from Act III, during which Wolfram asks that the star be a guide to Elisabeth, the Landgrave’s niece and object of both his and Tannhäuser’s love.
