Insurgency and famine in Doolow, Somalia

Doolow, a town in southern Somalia, is on the front lines of an Islamic insurgency and famine now facing the Bakool and Shabelle districts of Somalia, the most lawless nation on earth. Women and children flee, staggering across the harsh desert with meager supplies and walking for up to 20 days straight towards the Ethiopian border, where camps are already overflowing with the victims of the first famine of the 21st century.
