If you think about it, the human story is a story of climate migration. 60,000 years ago, changes in the climate allowed modern humans from Eastern Africa to migrate, creating the different civilizations and nations we know today. In 2017, storms, floods, and droughts displaced 18 million people from their homes worldwide, with some estimates saying 200 million people may be displaced by climate change in the next three decades. Our partners at Hot Mess look at the fate of climate migrants.
