In this episode, The Vanderbilt Project on Unity & American Democracy blends political science, history, and currents events to create a university course that helps students better understand how democracies do and do not work. To shed light on these problems, the course brings different perspectives to the table. Scholars, politicians, policy experts, and journalists discuss their views about American democracy with the students. They provide a unique and unfiltered perspective of contemporary American politics and come from both sides of the ideological spectrum.
About The Vanderbilt Project on Unity & American Democracy
The Vanderbilt Project on Unity & American Democracy was established with the premise that the country has become disconnected from evidence. The project seeks to supplant ideology with fact, and reintroduce evidence into the national conversation, pointing to solutions beyond reflexive ideological claims. We explore the origins, aspirations, and impact as it bridges divides and cultivates unity.
