When it comes to climate change, why does art matter? And how are democracy and the issue of climate change intertwined?
Preserving Democracy partnered with the Human Impacts Institute to launch a design campaign that encourages creative expression around democracy and climate action. People from around world shared their designs, including Philadelphia-based designer and screen print artist, Rhonda Babb, who was selected by the Human Impacts Institute as the winner of the competition with her “Your Vote Matters to Her” design. Babb is the Founder of The Hope Symbol Project.
In this episode of Voices for Change: Democracy and Climate Action, Hari Sreenivasan, Correspondent at The WNET Group, sits down with Babb to discuss her art, the messy process of screen printing, and how Babb hopes that her art makes people think more deeply about their own agency around issues like climate change.
