Why Stories Matter

When it comes to climate change, why do stories matter? And how are democracy and the issue of climate change intertwined?

In this episode of Voices for Change: Democracy and Climate Action, Hari Sreenivasan, Correspondent at The WNET Group, discusses climate change and journalism with Mark Hertsgaard, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Covering Climate Now. Covering Climate Now convenes journalists and newsrooms and offers trainings in order to help them produce more rigorous and engaging climate coverage.

Hertsgaard shares in the interview: “It’s a climate change election and that’s for us as journalists to get across. We don’t tell people who to vote for, but we it’s certainly within our agreement in a democracy to be telling people this is one of the things you’re voting on.”
