This week people of faith in Baltimore prayed for peace and justice as the city’s six-day curfew came to an end following last week’s riots. Maryland governor Larry Hogan attended a mass in the West Baltimore neighborhood that the late 25-year-old Freddie Gray called home. President Obama referenced the unrest in Baltimore while he was in New York promoting a program to help young minority men. He spoke of his longstanding commitment to racial justice:
President Obama: “This will remain a mission for me and for Michelle not just for the rest of my presidency, but for the rest of my life.”
